WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
No previous experience working with cold porcelain is needed as this course is suitable for all abilities;  milliners who want to learn or perfect the technique, beginners who wish to learn a new craft or start out in the world of millinery and for people who would like to make headdresses for an upcoming event.
 

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
On this 2-day course you will learn the necessary skills which will enable you to design and create unique headdresses made with cold porcelain flowers, leaves and stamens, to which other elements such as, cristales, feathers and brass embellishments can also be added. This technique can also be used to adorn belts, bodices or shoulders of a dress and brooches

 

ITINERARY:

 

- DAY ONE
We will teach you how to colour, cut, form and shape the porcelain to create all the pieces which you will use to make your headdress, perfect for a bride or guest!
You will learn how to make four kinds of flowers with different petals,  three kinds of leaves and stamens.
 

- DAY TWO
On the second day, all the pieces will be dry and we will show you different painting techniques: how to gradate with oil paints and add shades of colour with metallic and pearlescent paint so as to create a variety of effects.
Using some of the pieces which we made on the first day, we will then assemble  them onto a millinery wire with silk thread to form a floral headdress.

WHAT KIND OF COURSE IS IT?
This is a completely hands-on practical learning experience  which focuses on the skills and different techniques used to create cold porcelain headdresses and embellishments for fashion accessories.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I WISH TO CANCEL THE COURSE?

Should you wish to cancel the course, you can do so up to 14 days prior to the start of the  course.  If you cancel within the 14 days prior to the start of the course, we cannot offer a refund of the deposit.
